In its efforts to keep up with the rest of its MePa neighborhood, Hotel Gansevoort is going after the chicks. The new nightclub in the old Ono space, Provocateur, is now open for private parties and events, and is hoping to woo the ladies with indie rock, “pole service,” and skincare cocktails. (They contain some sort of detoxifying ingredients. Apparently.)

The club’s owners say that Provocateur was “specifically created to cater to women’s every desire,” although they didn’t check with us, and we’re certainly no fans of $22 cocktails and aren’t too sure about renting a stripper pole for our table either.

In the lounge section, the DJ will cater to the ladies with music from Kings of Leon to Empire of The Sun, while the nightclub will spin “progressive house.” As for the super-femme interiors designed by Lionel Oyahon of ICRAVE, think banquettes, photo collages, and a retractable roof in the lounge, and a flashy nightclub space with a metal gogo cage and, uh, giant wings suspended above the crowd.

Too girly? Never! Co-owner Mike Satsky told Haute Living that “every man’s little secret is that they like these things. A lot of guys on the low watch Gossip Girl.”

The GG analogy also extends to getting in: Provocateur is strictly guest-list only. Apparently Jennifer Lopez was there earlier this month for a book party, although we doubt she pulled a Snooki and took a spin on the pole.

Are you fabulous enough to have been inside? Hit us up and let us know if the club deserves the hype.
