We were so excited by the promise of the Mondrian SoHo’s enchanted garden when we still thought the hotel was opening this summer. Now it’s opening in fall, we hope they’ll throw in a few heat lamps so we can still enjoy the great outdoors. That is, of course, if it does open in the fall. At this rate, we’re not going to put our money on it.

But it's far, far out on the horizon ...
We hate to get all Debbie Downer on you, especially on a Friday, but we have another Hotel Delay to report. Yesterday, we told you that the W Downtown New York Hotel is now opening May 4. Today, we’re sorry to say that the Mondrian SoHo opening is also delayed—until the fall.
The Morgans Hotel Group have been very secretive about this property, only releasing a few renderings of the rooms and the bizarre-looking restaurant. Everything else about the hotel we’ve had to sniff out or surmise ourselves. Perhaps the lack of intel goes hand in hand with the continuing delays?
