What's cooler than being cool? According to uber-hip website The Cool Hunter, Paris' Hôtel de Sers fits into said category. The City of Lights, with its ciggy-loving, blasé denizens, already ranks very high on the haute scale, so this hotel—which was a former mansion—fits right in.

The site gives kudos to its contemporary edge, saying, "[T]he current owners' expensive and extensive renovation retained the initial feel...of the original mansion, and managed to insert today's touches in a way that does not feel like a pretentious afterthought." A high class Parisian hotel that isn't pretentious? Quelle surprise!

Hôtel de Sers is no Crillon, but it is decorated to the nines, and you may not have to worry about snotty guards barring your entrance if you want to sneak a peek at its interior. It's also relatively small, with just 45 rooms, four junior suites, and two larger suites.

So far, we like what we see, and concur with Cool Hunter's description of its "Scandinavian, modernist feel" mixed with "French classical elements," like large oil paintings and ornate light fixtures.

We checked the website (which is written en Français, FYI), and found rooms starting at €305 over Valentine's Day weekend. What better time to hit up the city, after all. We're definitely keeping the hotel in mind for our next big trip to Pair-ee. Bisous!
