Will The Ivy Hotel in San Diego Turn into an Andaz? (Update: Yes It Will)

UPDATE: It's for real! Hyatt has officially announced today that the Ivy Hotel will become an Andaz on February 1. So far it looks like everything will stay the same except now you can use Hyatt Gold Passport points to stay there.
We can hardly believe our luck on this Monday morning. On the day that Andaz Wall Street is to open in New York, a tipster has pointed us to this random link here that said the sexy The Ivy Hotel in San Diego may turn into a Hyatt Andaz Hotel.
There's not much to go on except that the hotel employee's union Unite Here says they have learned this bit of info and that the rebranding of the Ivy will help restore faith in San Diego's LGBT community after the issues with the owner of the Manchester Grand Hyatt, regarding his hefty donation to the "Yes on Prop 8" campaign (which denied marriage to gay couples.)
As for the Ivy, this could be a good step for them--if indeed it's true.
The hotel recently opened its own wine bar in the fall but outstanding reviews have been elusive which may be in part because of the hotel's peekaboo bathrooms and the noisy Envy nightclub. And we can't forget about how Jesse Metcalfe trashed his room there.
We've checked in with the Andaz people and as usual, we'll keep you updated if we hear something.
Got your own dirt on the Andaz-Ivy connection? Send it in! (Anonymity assured.)
