We told you about the electric car-charging station at the Element Lexington when they announced that they were installing one back in July. But now we can bring you photos of the charger in action. And doesn’t it look cute?

The unassuming charging station kind of reminds us of the Drive-In, only without the necking. (Unless, of course, you’re turned on by all things eco-friendly and don’t mind getting it on in a teensy electric car or Segway.)

Element Lexington is the world’s first hotel to install the ChargePoint Charging Station, and as far as we can tell from the ChargePoint Network map it’s the only charging station in New England. (The closest one appears to be in Long Island, New York.) So we hope these electric vehicles hold their charge better than our laptops, otherwise you risk getting stuck on I-95, or maybe staying a few extra nights at the Element.

Which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. The green property looks all neutral and inviting, there’s a pool, extended-stay rates, and free hotel-wide Wi-Fi.

You don’t have to be a guest to use the ChargePoint station—just a subscriber to the network. If you do want to hang out in Lexington, rates at the Element start at $138.60 a night (that’s a pre-paid non-refundable rate available for this weekend). The rack rates start at $294 a night. The glowy feeling you'll get from being so kind to the environment? Priceless.
