Today we have the first update to our September Issue: 10 Hot NYC Hotel Openings and we're pleased to say it's a good one!

Ink48, the new hotel from Kimpton on the west side, will open a "rough draft" of its hotel on October 1. Actually, the hotel will open on September 15 but guests won't be able to stay overnight in the former printing house for another two weeks. When it does open in October, most of the hotel will be finished except for the two restaurants, a three-story rooftop addition and the presidential suite.

24-hour room service will be available and guests will receive a complimentary continental breakfast and an extended wine hour from 5-7pm to go along with their "Rough Draft Rate" which is 48 percent off (get it?) the hotel's rack rate of $429 a night.

We had to break out our old pink and yellow Snoopy calculator to do the math on this one but those room rates should work out to about $221 a night. When we hit up the hotel's website we were able to make reservations on October 1 for a deluxe king bed but at $309 a night. Various other dates in October gave off rates from $249 to $299.

Still, the "Rough Draft Rate" was also extended into November which made us happy to see. Staying at Ink48 might be more affordable than we thought.

    Great Price

My girlfriend and I booked Ink48 for October 07-12 in a King Room for $135 night plus taxes. This price is unbeatable for hotel in NYC. We booked the first day the offer was released. We can't wait to be in NYC. Great expectations.

    we're booked in

Can't wait to see if Ink48 lives up to the hype - I'm booked in next week. The price is right and Hell's Kitchen is an interesting place to be... will report back on the place after my trip. Too bad the restaurants aren't open but there are too many excellent places to eat in NYC to be truly disappointed.
