The Loft at Thompson LES's glamour shot.
The loft features a full one-bedroom suite and the king-sized bed has a beautiful illuminated light-box headboard with a print by noted photographer Lee Friedlander. The penthouse comes with oversized terry robes by Sferra, toiletries by C.O. Bigelow, an LCD flat-screen TV, an in-room movie library and a minifridge stocked with Dean & DeLuca snacks. But the best amenity is the sweeping view of downtown, which made Zoe go bananas. "Oh my God, look at this view," Zoe said staring at the Empire State Building from the terrace. "Love that."
Since Valentine's Day fell during Fashion Week, Zoe wanted to do something special for her bored husband, so she tried out the room-service breakfast menu. "I pulled a Richard Gere and ordered one of everything on the menu," she said to Rodger, who played the Julia Roberts role and chose the pancakes with a housemade fruit compote of berries, whipped cream and warm maple syrup ($14).
If you want to stay in the Thompson Loft, it'll cost you a hefty $4,500 per night. However, hotel officals say that depending on the time of year and length of stay, the nightly rate is negotiable. The Thompson LES also rents the space out for events such as trunk shows, cocktail parties and corporate meetings (that's one business meeting we wouldn't mind attending). But the penthouse isn't available for booking online; it must be reserved over the phone at (877) 460-8888 or (212) 460-5300.
