San Diego, and much of California in general, is already well-known for promoting sustainability—what with compost piles and paraben-free beauty products all the rage—so this package is an extension of the state's green awareness. "What in Al Gore's name do I get if I opt to 'Live Green, Stay Green'?", you might ask. The answer: a King Deluxe Guest Room, the "eco-awareness movie" An Inconvenient Truth, organic popcorn, a bottle of Sterling Vineyards' organic wine, a green guide to San Diego's attractions, a tree planted in your name, and complimentary parking for hybrids.
The package is subject to availability, and booking it online is a little bit confusing. We hit a few walls in our attempts, namely in trying to track down open dates and figure out exactly how and if we were getting the advertised package discount on a Deluxe room at all. The best luck in booking your eco-getaway might be getting in touch with someone at the Solamar offline.
Do it for Mother Earth, or at least for Nobel laureate Al.
