The hotel and residences will each have their own entrance on level one, and while they’ll share this outdoor plaza on the first floor, the guest-resident divide will extend to the other terraces in the building.

Level 5 will be home to the W Living Room with Terrace Lounge (“with mood lighting provided by the glimmering New York City backdrop”). Based on this rendering, it looks modern and appropriately W-ey—a fine place to down a few cocktails surrounded by downtown skyscrapers.

But the real show-stopper is the residents-only Rooftop Terrace up on the 58th floor. Apparently this is where “you’ll feel like you’re sitting on top of the world, especially when you look out at the astonishing view of the Hudson River, the harbor, and the city below.”

Obviously staying at the hotel will not be enough to feel truly special. We’re going to have to make friends with someone plunking down their cash for a condo.
