There’s no sign of the Hilton news at the Tudor’s own website: just business as usual. However, over at the Historic Hotels of America website, it says that an extensive renovation will be completed in 2009.
Opened in 1931, the hotel was part of the Tudor City residential development, which included parks, tulip gardens, and golf courses. It was designated as a landmark in 2007. In its next chapter as a Hilton, the Tudor will be spiffed up with flat-screen LCD TVs, Sealy posturepedic mattresses, Crabtree & Evelyn bath products, MP3 alarm clock radios, and Cuisinart dual-cup coffeemakers with Lavazza Italian coffee.
Until those futuristic touches arrive in March, you can soak up the history of the Tudor from $271.20 a night.
