At the party, guests floated in between the Cartier display cases to learn more about The Surrey Hotel and its offerings while sipping on champagne and nibbling on appetizers from Cafe Boulud by Chef Daniel Boulud, which will be open at The Surrey. All in all, it was a classy and intimate affair. The same kind of experience The Surrey hopes to provide to its guests.
We were able to grab a few minutes with Brad Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of Denihan Hospitality Group, who told us what the well-heeled guests can expect when The Surrey hotel opens on October 15th.
Since The Surrey is located on the Upper East Side, competition from the old storied luxury hotels like The Carlyle, The Pierre and even The Plaza will be fierce. We asked Wilson why should guests take a chance on this new kid on the block? He told us The Surrey will have everything that guests look for in a traditional hotel but it will have a more "modern personality."
Guests can also expect a high level of personalized service as part of what Wilson calls, "considered moments," where the hotel customizes its experiences for the guests. And of course, the luxe amenities found inside the hotel will leave the guests impressed by this new "creative and current" luxury hotel. Duxiana linens, Pratesi robes and pillow menus are just some of the in-room treats.
The Surrey will soft-open on October 15th with room rates starting at $629 a night for a grand deluxe salon room with a king bed.
