Still looking for a Labor Day getaway? If you’re one of those hotel guests who pay for the experience and are into the whole super-luxe, rural New England scene, you’re in luck: Winvian, the Relais & Châteaux property made of 18 “cottages” in Connecticut’s Litchfield Hills is offering a Labor Day deal, and as of today there is still availability for the weekend.

Starting at just $750 a night (bear with us—this is a deal for the preppy-posh Winvian where rooms started at $999 a night two years ago), you too can play house in a themed cottage designed by a fancy architect (15 of them got to play make-believe when designing their respective chalets.)

It’s a fun, whimsical concept—there’s a Treehouse, a Log Cabin, and a Library cottage—although kind of a pricey way to rekindle childhood memories.

But if you’re into that kind of thing, here’s the “deal”: the Artist, Helicopter, Maritime, and Golf cottages are all still available for this weekend for $750 per night at the A La Carte rate (this includes breakfast and the mini-bar, but no other food or beverages), or $1,500 per night for the All Inclusive rate (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and picnics, plus carte blanche at the property’s bars.)

The Beaver cottage (har har) is available this weekend for $1,299 per night a la carte, or $1,950 per night all-inclusive.

A tree grows in your bathroom, in the Beaver cottage.

The Labor Day deal also includes a $50 spa credit, but it can’t be used for a mani or pedi (ie: the cheapest options).

Reservations have to be made by phone or email (funnily enough, Winvian is not on Quikbook!): Ph 860 567 9600, reservations@winvian.com

If you miss out on the deal, you could always recreate your own Winvian experience: just build a cubby house in your backyard and order catering from the fanciest restaurant in town. Bon appétit!
