Along with those standard perks, preferred corporate guests have access to the “Commons,” a business lounge with typical features like free WiFi, odd-sounding “networking pod” seating areas for impromptu meetings, as well as some more fun frills like two Nintendo Wii consoles, vintage board games, and Brookstone massage chairs. For bigger meetings, guests can book the 50-seat “Garage” conference room, named in homage of the founding locations of such tech giants as Hewlett-Packard.
It's also close to the Great America adventure park so you can have your Yahoo! meeting and then study physics in motion on a roller coaster. How very geek.
One final perk we should tell you about: the hotel offers free pickup and drop-off at the San Jose airport, and will even ferry guests to business meetings within seven miles of the hotel.
The other interesting thing about this hotel is that it is a joint venture between JDV and Best Western, and they unabashedly share space on the hotel banner. That means the hotel can take advantage of Best Western’s reservation system and global recognition program, while JDV manages the property itself.
Speaking of reservations, rates for the hotel start at $149 a night during the week, and $89 on weekends. Guests who book a room online on JDV’s web site from now until January 31, however, will receive an introductory $99 room rate, a $25 food credit at Bennigan’s, and access to the Commons. That should make it easier for would-be start-ups to afford a stay here.
