Hotel: Encore Las Vegas
Location Layout: This is Vegas and casinos were built to confuse you so that instead of staying on the path back to the guest elevators, you become confused by the changing rug patterns and wild decor and inexplicably find yourself at the ATM drawing out $500 with which to play blackjack.
Fortunately, the Lobby Bar and Cafe is right in front of the guest elevators so that when you come down in the morning, you don't have very far to go.
Outlets: We spotted three outlets in various locations on the red lacquer-like walls and we aren't positive, but we think we saw some sort of plug panel action going on too.
Furniture: Tables and chairs or "low-slung" sofas for you to chill out on.
Digital Nomad Tolerance: Very tolerant. We worked from here two times--early in the morning and later in the afternoon (both on weekdays) and no one bothered us at all. Then again, we did order coffee in the morning and a hummus and pita plate in the afternoon. So they didn't have much to complain about.
Phone Calls: Totally do-able. If you sit far away from the coffee bar, the party on the other end won't even hear the coffee grinders.
Overall Mood: The Lobby Bar and Cafe is swank and sexy with deep red colors and a colorful mosaic tile floor set against a black background. It really helps you tolerate having to work in Vegas at 7am in the morning. Plus, you can order some adult beverages anytime you want. Also very helpful when you have to work in Vegas at 7am in the morning.
Digital Nomad Grade: B+
We'd give this location an A+ if it weren't for the lack of wireless. This is strictly a place for folks with wireless cards.
