Designer Tracy Beckmann, who began working with the club two years ago when she was asked to design their basketball court (followed by the private dining room and pool area), has again been commissioned to take on the decor renovation. LACC was established in 1880 as the city's first private—and obviously very exclusive—club, and Beckmann's design will reflect the establishment's history.
We've been told to expect the plush comforts of a traditional gentleman's club, evoking the feeling guests are staying "at their rich uncle's house." That translates to nine individually-designed and themed suites, the themes including: the Hollywood Social Suite (a.k.a. the Charlie Chaplin Suite), the California Beach Club Suite, and the Polo Suite, to name a few.
Amenities for the rooms are definite upgrades, too: Frette linens, towels and robes, Sferra blankets, 32" Phillips LCD televisions, and MP3 players—accessories that hotels who dare call themselves luxurious are practically required to have. The renovation is expected to be completed in mid-September of this year.
Bring on a bottle of Grandpa's expensive bourbon and we're there. In the meantime, room rates for the hotel start at $140 a night.
