It’s a bit steep for our budget, but comes with a lot of cool freebies if you can swing it. Filmgoers get one night’s accommodation in a Fairmont Gold Room, breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres, two complimentary film passes, a TIFF swag bag, two martinis in the Library Bar, CN Tower passes, a 2009 Official Film Schedule and an On-Command in-room movie.
The one night package rate begins at $389 CAD and is valid September 13-19, 2009. There’s one small catch – the package must be booked by Monday, August 31st by calling 1 (800) 441-1414 or visiting here. So if you’re interested, hop on it. Stat.
If you're wary of hotel packages, the hotel has a moderate queen room available for $359 a night which isn't that much cheaper. If you're heading to Toronto for TIFF, you might as well book this package and keep the film festival feeling going while you're back at the hotel.
Normally, we'd send cinema lovers on a tight budget to Hôtel Le Germain instead. Smack dab in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District (read: nightlife central), it’s a great home base for Film Festival festivities with rooms starting at a more affordable $189.00. However, the hotel is entirely sold-out from September 13-16.
