One of the country’s oldest, most historic hotels will soon change hands. As of Sept. 1, the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, will add Omni to the front of its moniker.

The luxe 365-room New England resort opened in 1902 at the base of Mount Washington, the Northeast’s highest peak, and has notably hosted Thomas Edison, Babe Ruth, and three U.S. presidents. Recently the resort finished a multi-million-dollar restoration and renovation project, which includes a new spa, conference center, and outdoor pool complex.

With Omni at the helm, the resort will receive another $10 million in improvements to the guest rooms, food/drink venues, and public areas. The 18-hole Mount Washington Course will also be restored to its 1915 Donald Ross design. (Fun fact: Babe Ruth’s golf locker is on display here.)

Through Sept. 3, the hotel is offering a third night free when you stay two nights. The resort is also offering a Rest & Recreation package, with rates starting at $115 for the Mount Washington Hotel, which includes a daily choice of a canopy zipline tour, round of golf, or a 50-minute treatment at their new spa. Here's hoping Omni doesn't jack up the rates or do away with affordable packages like those.
