The W Atlanta Buckhead sounded like the one we wanted to go for, but the website was showing $229. We tried Quikbook – it was the same. Meanwhile, the Palomar had a room for $169, which was sounding tempting.
But then we saw Hotwire had a four-star hotel in Buckhead for just $95. Cross-referencing on Betterbidding.com, it could have been the Intercontinental, Westin, Grand Hyatt or the W – any of which were fine with us. But it was also showing one that seemed to be the W Downtown for the same price, which made us think that the Buckhead one was probably the W as well. So we booked it.
Lo and behold, we were right. So we saved $134 on our stay, and even got upgraded to a room worth $259 thanks to our Starwood Preferred status. Unfortunately, we spent half of that on parking ($30), in-room internet ($10.95) and a club sandwich ($21.05) but you can’t have everything, right?
Oh and if you're thinking that room looks a little sad and forlorn, it is--compared to what the rooms were supposed to look like. We'll have the full tour of the room for you tomorrow so check back then!
