Like yesterday's disturbing carbon monoxide leak report, we're filing this story under "Things We Shouldn't Have to Worry About After Check-In." According to a report in the Denver Business Journal, the Feds have been investigating "unauthorized access to computer systems at some Radisson Hotels & Resorts locations in the United States and Canada." In our minds, that translates to potential credit card and/or identity theft—bad news.
The Radisson has gone into damage control mode, downplaying the severity of the incident. Reports the Journal:
Radisson said Wednesday that the computer systems were accessed between November 2008 and May of this year. The hotel chain described the number of locations involved as “limited,” but said guests’ names and credit-card information could have been accessed. (Social Security numbers aren’t included in the records.)
If you stayed at a Radisson hotel during that time and believe you may have been affected, there is a toll-free customer service line you can call (866.584.9255) in addition to a website (www.Radisson.com/openletter) for more assistance.
Radisson has yet to disclose which locations were involved in the melee. For the full report, click here.
