Thus, we already had one biased member in the group. The other two willing members of our unofficial group consisted of an organic, pescatarian babe and a meat-loving, beer-drinking ex-frat boy who takes some (but not a lot of) pride in what he uses in and after the shower.
The hippie chick loved the white tea aloe body lotion and conditioner (made to "restore balance") which reminded her of the white tea products from Origins, while the dude thought everything was "great." However, he said he would probably still bring along his hair thickening shampoo rather than use Westin's green tea grapefruit shampoo (a "be uplifted" scent) because he's very concerned about thinning hair. We liked the smell of the shampoo, and while it didn't harshly strip away the natural oils from our hair, we did feel as if left us a little dry and that we needed to overcompensate with the conditioner.
No one sampled the chamomile lavender bath oil (which should help you "embrace calm"), but the green tea grapefruit body wash was a hit as was the white tea aloe body lotion. So much of a hit that we would buy it from the Westin.com store after our supply runs out? Only our one enthusiastic friend said she would consider buying it, but she did like how the ones in the hotel were free. So she might be more inclined to stay at a Westin again for the toiletries.
In conclusion, our very unscientific testing trials show that the Westin toiletries are well-liked and would be a pleasant surprise for guests hopping into the shower. But they still lack the extra "oomph" for potential guests to go out there and buy the products. Since the Heavenly Bath line was created with Bliss Spa (who place their very popular Bliss products in all W Hotels), they might want to consider putting the Bliss name on the bottle to sell at Bliss spas as well. In the meantime, we'd just advise them to keep those housekeeping carts heavily guarded.
If you want to try the Heavenly Bath line but aren't staying at a Westin soon, then order up the travel-sized kit from the Westin store for $12.
