5. Above at Hilton Times Square:
This one's for the tourists; grabbing a prix-fixe weekday or, even better, Sunday lunch up here means not only checking Times Square off your list of to-dos, but being able to have an eagle-eye view of itas Above is on the 21st flooraway from the crowds and with your mouth full of contemporary American cuisine.
Details: Lunch, Dinner, Sunday lunch and dinner. Book on OpenTable.
4. 85 West at The Marriott Downtown:
So what if this is one of those curious bar/restaurant hybrids that might have a few happy hour guests lingering? 85 West at the Financial District's Marriott also boasts a restaurant week menu that looks like it might actually leave you full and satisfied. Don't believe us? We'll let the menu, with its Korean ribs and chocolate bread pudding awesomeness, speak for itself.
Details: Lunch, Dinner, Sunday lunch and dinner. Must call to book: 212-266-6128.
3. Bar Artisanal at Hilton Garden Inn Tribeca:
Oddly enough, we ate here this last Valentine's Day when it was a restaurant called "Trigo." Mind you, we had forgotten all about V-Day and ended up getting stuck with a horrible $75 prix-fixe dinner, so perhaps now that the place has been re-imagined as an organic bistro and you can score a $35 prix-fixe, things will be better.
Details: Lunch, Dinner, Sunday dinner. Book on OpenTable.
2. The Oak Room at The Plaza:
Seriously ya'll; it's The Plaza's restaurant, and who doesn't want a piece of The Plaza (aside from the people who already own pieces of it, teehee). It's the ultimate in power dining underneath an imposing chandelier, and since they'd probably love your repeat business, there might actually be lobster in the "lobster and sweet corn bisque." Check out the menu!
Details: Lunch, Dinner, Sunday dinner. Book on OpenTable.
1. Locanda Verde at The Greenwich Hotel:
In terms of New York hotel restaurants, this one is a baby but she's had to grow up quickly in order to impress. By the time Restaurant Week swings around on July 12, rustic Italian joint Locanda Verde will be edging on two months old, after it replaced the failed Ago restaurant inside of DeNiro's (blogger unfriendly) Greenwich Hotel. A writer for Epicurious, reviewing for Eater.com, was gangbusters for it, and "lemon tart with buttermilk gelato" sounds like a winner.
Details: Weekday lunch only. Must call to book: 212-925-3797.
Of course we've got our reservations already in, but we'd love to hear about your choices among New York hotel restaurants, as well as your restaurant week experiences. Leave 'em in the comments, and bon appetit.
