Despite all the offers going down at the moment, it seems that London is still in the major league when it comes to expensive accommodation. In fact, when some friends of ours popped into town last week, the best deal they could find was a cramped scuzz-hole in Bayswater for £120.
But if you’re planning on hitting London later this summer, you can do a lot better than that because the five-star Cadogan Hotel is having a week-long sale from this Friday. Book for a stay between August 14 and September 6 and you can get a double room for £99 ($160) a night (excluding VAT). Which isn’t bad at all the cheapest double you’ll get right now is £205.
It’s a legendary one too: Oscar Wilde was arrested in room 118, King Edward VII used to come here for assignations with Lillie Langtry, and nowadays there are all the designer shops downstairs on Sloane Street. Definitely one to go for.
