A Way to Ensure Your Activities at The Standard Won't Result in a Rash
Let's be up front about this: lots of people have sex at The Standard. Particularly, we know that lots of people have sex in the windows of the Standard New York, in plain view of all the High-Line explorers and skeevy Meatpacking District bartenders. There's a whole lotta humpin' going on in that building and we're pretty sure similar activities happen all over the LA, Miami and Hollywood properties, too. And, as we all know from health class and, um, college, sometimes those particular activities result in rashes. And you don't want to associate The Standard with nasty rashes, do you?
No, you don't which is why we'd like to tell you that Quiksilver has partnered with Standard Hotels to release a retro-looking set of swimwear (a limited-edition line that goes on sale today) that not only has special snap detailing, but incorporates Quiksilver's Diamond Dobby anti-rash material. Yay!
According to CoolHunting:
The standout in the collection, a polka-dotted swim piece, replicates almost exactly a pair of pro surfer and Echo Beach original member Danny Kwock's red-black-and-white trunks from the old days. Other new shorts take their design cues from Standard hotel locations, featuring city guides specific to each printed in the waistbands and edited by Quiksilver creative director and seminal skateboarder Natas Kaupas.
For the ladies, Quiksilver "reissued" a simple little black bikini, too. Only 250 "of each product" is available, though the board shorts will run you $74; $84 for the bikini (seriously?! 84 bucks?)
If you're down, the goods are on sale on ShoptheStandard.com right now, or from vending machines at the LA, Hollywood and Miami properties after August 8th (coming to NYC later on).
