Sitting pretty after a century as one of San Francisco’s finest hotel institutions, The Palace Hotel is throwing down some sweet events and deals to celebrate its 100th anniversary:

· Stay two or more nights, seven days per week, through December 31, 2009 and earn 1,909 Bonus Starpoints when you reserve your stay online. Mention rate code YER. Rates start at $169.

Also between now and December 31, 2009, you can upgrade to a suite and breakfast for two each morning when you ask for promo code CSU. Rates start at $239.

Executive Chef Jesse Llapitan is featuring a “Historic Traditions” menu, inspired by the historic guests, dishes and events of the Palace Hotel. There’s plenty of commemorative keepsakes and swag to be had, including a historic pictorial book by Richard Harned ($21.99), a 15- piece postcard set ($7.99), a 100% silk scarf ($60.00) or cufflinks ($30.00).

The Palace Hotel is also hosting a series of events throughout the month of August, including a Palace Hotel Book Signing Brunch (August 2), a $19.09 Anniversary Tour & Lunch (several dates, reservations required), Anniversary Afternoon Tea (every Saturday in August), and a Palace Hotel Anniversary Party (August 27) with TV Food Network Chef, Duff Goldman.
