If you’ve ever been to Hotel 1000 then you know that this popular after work spot boasts one of downtown Seattle’s best (if not the best, IMO) happy hours. Chef Angie Roberts takes BOKA’s culinary program seriously and doesn’t slack for happy hour just because prices are slashed. Instead, her nearly 80% organic menu shines on spruced up comforty American favorites, with – dare we say – a bit of urban flare. When we stayed at Hotel 1000 the other month, eating at BOKA was the highlight of our trip. That and the Space Needle of course!

Swing by Tuesdays – Fridays, between 3:30 – 6 p.m. or 10 p.m. to close (gawd bless Seattle for twice daily happy hours). Or, on Saturdays between 5 – 7 p.m and 10 p.m. to close. Here are ten reasons why we think you should:

1. Boka Burger. Grilled angus beef burger with Beecher’s cheddar cheese, with pickled tomatoes and onion jam served with truffle fries is just $6.50 (regularly $13 – all urban bites and urban eats are half-priced).

2. All night happy hour in the bar on Sundays and Mondays starting at 3:30 p.m.

3. Coconut Mojitos. Imagine muddled mint and lime, Malibu rum, Coco Lopez coconut cream and house made lime sour topped with a splash of soda is pure summer in a glass. At $10, it’s a bit of a splurge, but on Wednesdays from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., specialty cocktails are half-priced.

4. Bacon Mac n’ Cheese. The ultimate dairy/carb sin – baked Beecher’s cheddar cheese and macaroni topped with bacon and herb bread crumbs is the perfect accompaniment to an icy cold beer. $4 during happy hour (usually $8).

5. Rainy Day Valet. Hotel 1000 cheers up weather-challenged guests with free valet parking and extended drink specials on rainy days in Seattle.

6. Drink on the cheap. During Happy Hour, well drinks are $4.75, draft beers are $3, and there’s always an interesting pick for the $5 red and white wine selections by the glass.

7. Boka Poke. Feeling like a light bite, but need something to hold down the booze? Try the sashimi grade Ahi tuna, cubed and served with fresh avocado, ponzu vinaigrette, ginger and taro chips. $4.50 during happy hour (usually $9).

8. Select martinis and Manhattans are priced $7.50 - $9.50 all-day Thursdays. Still kinda spendy, but we can attest that BOKA can make a kick ass, balanced cocktail.

9. Pork Belly Steam Bun Sliders. We love these bite sized bits of fatty pig goodness that are served with hoisin chili glaze and cilantro. $6 during happy hour (usually $12).

10. Half-priced bottles of wine during lunch on Fridays. Okay, so maybe this deal isn’t specific to happy hour, but we’re never one to pass up having an adult beverage over a leisurely lunch, especially on a Friday (kinda like a super early happy hour).

Other great happy hour places in Seattle...

I only went to BOKA for lunch...quite good.  I strongly recommend Cafe Champagne for their happy hour. You get a decanter of house wine for $10 and their pate sandwiches and lamb burgers are awesome.
