Summer in London is Cheap at The Cavendish

We thoroughly approve of any hotel that says “we’re making London more affordable”, so hats off to The Cavendish, which is unleashing a summer offer which is slashing its room rates.

The Summer London Breaks offer gets you one night in a classic double room, plus a full English breakfast (although it doesn’t include 15% VAT), from £139 on weekends, or £129 during the week (a pretty miraculous midweek rate for a nice four star, going on our efforts to find a room for some friends that wasn’t a hovel a few weeks back.

And this is a nice place — right on posh Jermyn Street in Mayfair, where the gents can spend their leftover cash on a nice tailored suit.

Here’s the small print: it’s limited availability, only available from July 24 to September 6, and you’ll have to stay at least two nights (though that’s hardly a trial at these prices). It’s also non-refundable and non-changeable, and you have to pay the full fare up-front. Barring swine flu, though, you should be fine. August in London will be lovely. Promise.
