Book by July 20th and Score Up to 50% Off Starwood Hotels

Today begins what the Starwood PR peeps are calling "a week-long wave of record-breaking discounts across the globe" — a summer sale with rates plunging as low as 50% off almost 600 participating worldwide Starwood properties from now until July 20th.

But is it really a good deal? Should you be sitting on the edge of your chair and clicking furiously for the next five days, running home to ask the Mister if he's down for a little Asia vacay?

Here's what we've got: we found the SLS Beverly Hills down at $279. Le Parker Meridien NYC is $189, while W Times Square is down at $199. Hawaii lovers: Sheraton Waikiki was priced at $179 in the sale; the Royal Hawaiian is starting at $290.

Earth-shattering? No, but there are deals to be had — just watch out for the blackout dates. With the exception of the blackout dates noted (and they're noted prominently before you even bother going through the booking process — good job, S-wood), the prices are valid on stays from July 16 through October 12.
