Capella Pedregal in Cabo Finally Opens
Today marks the opening not only of NYLO Las Colinas (yay!), but also of Capella Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas, "boasting a prized and secluded cliffside setting where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez." And, we assume, not yet boasting an embarrassingly-scantily-clad pack of Spring Breakers. And yes, it's super late it was shooting for November of '08 last we checked.
Oh, well, maybe it never will become a nasty college Spring-Break-y destination: calling itself an "intimate oceanfront hideaway," the resort has only 66 luxe guestrooms, and each one has a private plunge pool, ocean views and a "personal assistant" (i.e. concierge) assigned to its occupants.
Also, apparently you get quite the welcome (according to the sensational wording in the press release, anyway):
Upon arrival, guests emerge from a 1,000-foot private tunnel carved through the mountainside to find a breathtaking expanse of azure sky and sea - an exclusive haven just minutes away from lively downtown Cabo, yet seemingly worlds apart.
Well, that sounds nice, eh? The resort also has a signature, Don Manuel, and the al fresco El Farallon, "with cliffside tables overlooking the crashing waves below."
But avoiding those Spring Breakers is gonna cost you: opening rates start at $525 per room per night, and they're available through October 15th.
