NYC Celeb Roundup: Awkwardness at Le Parker Meridien, Fun at The Jane

June 5, 2009 at 9:34 AM | by Jenna | 0 Comments

Hey! For once, we have a report of some positive(ish) happenings at The Jane! Well, kinda: there was a party there full of celebs that seems to have concluded without incident. The movie Away We Go (a promising-looking Garden State-esque film starring the can-do-no-wrong John Krasinski) had its premiere party there, and Kate Winslet apparently showed up (her hubby directed the film) — notable, to Page Six at least, because where the The Jane is now was allegedly actually the building that "housed and sheltered all of the [Titanic's] survivors right after the 1912 tragedy, and a memorial service was held there at the time."

Kinda neat, right? And nice to hear of a successful party happening at the Jane, no matter what ends up going down with that whole liquor license/rooftop terrace ordeal.

And uptown at Le Parker Meridien on Tuesday night, some reports of something kind of awkward: Showtime had a "hospital-themed" party for its new (and excellent!) show, "Nurse Jackie," which stars Edie Falco — where things "turned all too real...when an elderly female guest collapsed and had to be carted out on a stretcher."

The awkward part: since the party was decorated with hospital beds and an X-ray machines and all that, The Post reported that people sorta ignored it 'cause they thought it was part of the theme. Oh: and celebs in attendance were Julianna Margulies, LL Cool J and Debra Winger. Whoops.
