This hotel used to be known as the Wyland Waikiki Hotel but in 2007 the hotel underwent top to bottom renovations and earlier this month, re-branded itself with the Courtyard By Marriott name. And it's probably one of the prettiest Courtyards yet, based on the web site pics and more importantly, some of the traveler pics we've seen at TripAdvisor.
Here's a snippet of the room descriptions:
The 307 guest rooms and 93 one-bedroom suites at Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach feature an island chic color scheme with sage cream, rattan, dark woods and a majority with private lanai (balcony), pillow top beds, 26” flat screen high-definition TV, high-speed Internet cable, refrigerator, coffeemaker with complimentary coffee, and cable TV with pay-per-view movies.
The hotel also has two swimming pools. One is a freshwater "garden pool" with a whirlpool spa. The other is a secluded saltwater pool. Not into the pool scene? The hotel has a "chill room" with massage chairs and a 65-inch flat panel TV or you could hang out in the reading room with its ocean-themed books.
Some other fun amenities on-site are the complimentary surf board storage, a coin-operated laundry and free internet.
Rounding out the services are a Spa Pure spa, fitness center and a business center. In-room dining is available for breakfast and dinner. There's a KiMOBEAN, a Hawaiian gourmet coffee shop, in the hotel's lobby that's also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel's Spada restaurant serves Italian fare. Lastly, the hotel has "access" to Waikiki Beach which means, you have to walk about two blocks to the beach. Also, we suggest bringing your own sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner and lotions. Courtyard's toiletry offerings are still rather weak.
The hotel is offering rates of $149 for a two-night stay over Fourth of July weekend. There is also a $129 opening offer in place (based on availability) through December 22, 2009.
