We just spent a ridiculously relaxing week on Maui but we were able to do some hotel snooping while we there. We have oodles to report on the Hawaii hotel scene, but at this very moment, we’re most excited about the July 10th debut of Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea’s new infinity-edged swimming pool.

When we site inspected the hard hat area hole in the ground this past weekend, it looked like it had a ways to go, but Director of Marketing, Mark Simon told us that after several deadline extensions, what’s being dubbed as the "Serenity Pool" would finally be ready for hotel guests right after the 4th of July holiday weekend.

We sure hope so, because the weather was beyond perfect while we were there (as if there’s really ever a bad time to go to Hawaii weather-wise), and we’d hate to see summer vacationers miss out on what’s going to be a truly spectacular, upscale, kid-free pool experience.

Here’s the skinny on all the services and amenities promised to be had on the 4,100-square-foot terrace (formerly the rather non-descript lawn right next to Spago):

• An “adult pool” for 21 years and older guests only
• A super high-tech underwater music system
• An infinity-edge design showcasing the most panoramic Pacific Ocean views to be had on property
• Shimmering glass mosaic tiles
• Six 160-square foot luxury cabanas kitted with flat screen HDTVs with wireless headsets, wireless and wired internet access, ceiling fans, mini-fridges stocked with Evian and fresh fruit, a laptop compatible safe, magazines, comfy couches and oversized chaise lounges.
• Full service specialty cocktails and Four Seasons cuisine available at the 60 poolside lounges and casabellas
• Swim-up and walk-up bar
• Custom-tailored specialty massages and facials
• Four bubble loungers within the pool
• As with all the swimming pools at the Resort, the Serenity Pool will also be saltwater.

We’ll keep you posted if the opening date gets bumped again. In the meantime, all fingers and toes are crossed (and ready for mini poolside massage services) for a July 6th opening.
