In addition to having cornered the baked goods scene in the state’s capital, Ramiel runs the most charming accommodations – and not that dreaded Laura Ashley, barfed up floral patterns and lace kinda charming often typical of small inns and B&Bs.
The main floor of the historic building is a bit quirky (in a good way) with uneven wood floors, exposed brick, mismatched furniture and a flea market’s worth of fun memorabilia, games and books. There’s a warm, communal feeling as guests retire to this comfortable space for morning pastries and coffee, to laze over a book or for the nightly wine and cheese social hour.
The 11 rooms in the newly remodeled 1914 building are immaculately clean, stylish (especially by the not-so-stylish standards we saw throughout Alaska), and have every essential amenity including room service and complimentary breakfast (yep, more of those delish pastries).
Some rooms even have Whirlpool® tubs. After a long day of playing in the great Alaskan outdoors, there’s really nothing better than retreating to the rooftop garden and taking a muscle-melting hot tub while overlooking downtown Juneau. Rates are affordable, starting at $89 a night.
