Boston Globe Promises the Liberty Hotel's 'Yappy Hour' Isn't So Bad
Um, are you somewhat wary of the sorts of people who you would assume might attend such functions as a "Yappy Hour"? You know, a happy hour that people attend with doggies in tow? Would you assume they might be a pack of "those" types of pet owners? And would you want to keep your distance from them? Yeah, us too, probably.
But! The Boston Globe had the same sorts of fears as we did when they made the decision to attend the Liberty Hotel's "Yappy Hour," and, fortunately, they're reporting that the event isn't so ridiculous at all:
This was the hotel’s first installment of a new weekly party called Yappy Hour where the dress code states “Canines come dressed to impress.’’ I had visions of dog owners and their pets in matching cheetah-print Juicy Couture track suits, with the poor dogs looking miserable in their ridiculous duds while their owners got sloppy drunk on Grape Escape cocktails.
I’m happy to report that instead the scene consisted of owners enjoying a drink while their dogs frolicked au natural.
The hotel hosts the cocktail hour from 5:00 to 7:00 every Wednesday this summer and all kinds of dogs are welcome, not just the yappy breeds.
