Yesterday we gave you our sneak peek at the just-opened ballroom/lobby bar at The Jane Hotel and while the old Socialista space is undergoing renovations (it will soon be a cafe) only drinks are being served for now at The Jane. Hotelier Sean MacPherson said he does imagine some lighter fare will be put out at a later time.

But New York mag's Grub Street has the full list of drinks so you can decide before you go. Some interesting cocktails ($12) on the menu include: The Punjab made with organic cucumber vodka, limoncello and cucumber and The Hedwig, an homage to the play Hedwig and the Angry Inch which first debuted in the space when it was the Jane Street Theater. That's made with honey vodka, strawberry puree and fresh dill. Wine, champagne and beers are also available.

Hedwig and The Jane

We saw "Hedwig" at Jane Street Theatre, three times.  Yummy play, tasty music. The Jane's cocktail also sounds delicious.  Origins of Love anyone?

Not quite ready....

Went to the Jane last night and it was soooo boring.  There was no music in the lounge, about 15 people in total (the bar was full) but there was no music on and the whole thing seemed pretty institutional. But they do have this amazing old safe in the lobby- totally cool.
I'd probably wait to check it out though. Unless you want a glass of wine and a nap!
