The bar...minus the packs of Sunday Intervention-ers.

Hard Rock Las Vegas has its Sunday Rehab pool party each week during the summers — which, as we know by now, involve neither rehabilitation nor any traditional Sunday activities. The Hard Rock San Diego's [hopefully slightly classier] answer to that? Intervention Sundays. Which, um, don't really involve any sorts of activities one might expect to see on the stellar reality show of the same name.

The Intervention pool parties at HRHSD's Float — which happen every Sunday in the summertime (they launched for the season in April — provide "the ultimate in downtown, adult recreation." Or, you know, an excuse to slip on your bikini and go get drunk in the daytime. Or just hang out and people-watch. The place is set up "to encourage socializing," and partygoers can sip cocktails from the exposed bar, whether on deck chairs, day beds or VIP cabanas.

If this sounds like your jam (and we encourage you to look at the flash video here to decide whether or not it's for you, if you get our drift), there are packages available for you and your skimpy swimsuit to make a whole Sunday out of it: a $149 rate includes complimentary VIP entry for two into the pool party, as well as Sunday night accommodations in a Studio Room (for two people). Because, um, believe us: you'll be tired. Daylight drinkin' really takes it out of you.

    Hard Rock San Diego

We usually stay at the W San Diego - definitely a more subdued pool scene but gave the Hard Rock a try. Pool was a great place to people watch---really fun party scene. We booked through San Diego Hotel Reservations and got a pretty good price but it seems the Hard Rock doesn't discount rooms as much as other hotels.
