Canadian Fairmonts Are Rollin' Out BMW Cruise Bikes

Where: Canada

There are very few bicycle jokes that don't have to do with inappropriate euphemisms that make reference to "village bicycles," so we'll just get right to it: the Fairmont Hotels north of the border are teaming up with BMW (yes, the automaker) to roll out a "complimentary hotel bicycle service featuring BMW Cruise Bikes" this Spring. Holla.

These are, like, pedal bikes — not motorized bikes (because, frankly, the notion of letting people loose on motorbikes is semi-terrifying) — and offering these bikes as an amenity is actually an extension of the company's emphasis on fitness; many properties offer guests use of training gear during their stay, like exercise outfits and sneakers. The idea behind the bikes is to give guests a cool way to explore the surroundings of the Fairmont property while gettin' a bit of exercise in. For instance, you can roam around the The Fairmont Chateau Whistler's biking trails or the Fairmont Château Laurier's Ottawa city streets.

Oh, and we should also add that you and your child can both bring the terror on two wheels: each hotel that offers the BMW cruise bikes will also carry child-sized BMW bikes.

Bikes are free to rent, though Fairmont President's Club members get "priority access" when reserving them.
