As the Hotel World Turns: The Soap Opera at The Jane Continues

Once again, the rumors are swirling 'round about the Jane Hotel; there seems to be some serious drama going down on Jane Street — and the result might not work out for anyone. In fact, the result may be an entirely boozeless establishment.

An anonymous tipster wrote in to let us know this:

On May 21st a large number of Jane Street residents who are not affiliated with the hotel or the tenants association went to a Community board meeting and effectively blocked the rooftop terrace, restaurant and any other locations in the Jane hotel from serving liquor.

According to this tipster, the only place they'll be able to serve alcohol in is the basement under a cabaret license if they're even able to obtain one — whoa. Not good.

But a rep for the hotel says "the ballroom/lounge are opening first (in about a week) — not sure when the roof will open, but I'll find out soon." Yeah, whatever that means.
