The Curtis Hotel Introduces the 'Stay Happy' Contest

What makes you happy? Is it your pet, your lover, your family, cheesy pop music, a sunset, a silly night out with friends, Edward Cullen feeding you cheese with a magnum of Chardonnay at your fingertips and a wallet overflowing with dolla', dolla' bills y'all? Ok, that last one is ours. But whatever makes you happy you should let The Curtis Hotel in Denver know.

The hotel is hosting a "Stay Happy" contest in which guests submit video entries detailing how they stay happy.

The videos will be posted online for the public to vote on, and winners will get one of five prizes, including a $1,000 shopping spree, spa treatments, sumptuous meals, Mile High Music Festival tickets or tickets to Wicked. All of the above deals come with accommodations at the Curtis and the grand prize winner gets pick of the prizes plus airfare for four to the Mile High City.

Contestants must be 21 years and older and the videos must be two minutes or less. They will be uploaded to www.stayhappyatthecurtis.com. From there, folks will vote on the best video about staying happy. You can also follow the contest on Twitter and the hash tag #stayhappy.

The last chance to submit your video is June 16, 2009 at 11pm MST. The winner will be announced on or about June 23 and the prizes will be awards on June 30. Now where's that magnum of Chardonnay? We need to get filming!

    The Curtis Hotel does not makes people happy!

    It seems The Curtis Hotel doesn't care about making the people who made videos (for their contest) happy.... because they have NEVER announced any winners & NOW they decided to extended the contest another month!

    Sure great for them.... more exposure, but the people who took the time to play by the rules & submit a video just got kicked in the teeth and told to keep up the (free promotions you're doing for them) for another month!

    BOGUS!  The Curtis Hotel should be ashamed!
    The contest was supposed to end yesterday, weds. June 16th at 11pm.... but has now been extended..... WITHOUT AWARDING PRIZES TO THE TOP VIDEOS!

    Go ahead and submit your video (at your peril)..... and see if the hotel doesn't use you(r likeness) for a month, while you tirelessly contact all your friends & drive interest to their site..... and watch.... they'll do it again and call it a no-contest or some other excuse to NOT give out any awards!

    Corporate cheesy weasels... hiding behind their ridiculous legaleez contract!

    You'll NEVER catch me staying at the curtis hotel!

    p.s.  WARNING: (according to the terms on their site) The Curtis can keep your video live (and later use it for promotions) even if you want your video deleted and want out of the contest!  Check out how much "rights" are granted to them to have the option (at any point) to cancel or withdraw the contest without awarding prizes.

    I would hope that everyone who has free long distance would call the "queen bee" at the curtis and tell her what she did was LAME!  (she's the bee? on the intro video... which has been deleted but is probably still up on you tube. <search queen bee, stay happy, curtis hotel>

    Oh and the direct hotel number is 303.571.0300... ask for queen bee.. or the promotions director in charge of the stay happy promotion.
    Let's fill up the phone lines so they know they can't do this without consequence!
