The Claridge's Hotel Not Posh Enough for Posh?
You’d think that with all them classy hotels around in London catering for all them A list celebs, there’d be one that came up to Victoria Beckham’s high standards, right? And among those classy hotels, Claridge’s would be up there with the best, no?
Um, no. According to the Sun and the London Lite, Posh and Becks fled the hotel on Sunday night, when they found it being seriously pillaged by the cast of EastEnders (which, for those of you not au fait with your Brit soaps, is like any of your American dramas, except the characters work in cafes and on market stalls shifting designer knockoffs rather than living off Daddy’s squillions).
Apparently, VB decided it would be a PR nightmare to be photographed with any of the ‘Enders cast, who were having a cockney knees up in honour of one of them getting wed. So she quickly grabbed David and sneaked out the back, leaving the riffraff to scuffle between themselves, with one of them getting wrestled to the ground by a bouncer.
Poor old Claridge’s. But now we understand why we didn’t even get looked up and down when we hit up the tea room in a pair of fusty white trainers last week - they must be letting their image-conscious guard down at the moment. The scruffy among us can call it one lucky benefit of the credit crunch.
