Marriott Hops Aboard the Summertime Free-Stay Bandwagon
Let's take a hot minute to mourn all the money the hotel industry lost during the recession. And...now, let's take a hot minute to celebrate all the kickass deals the disastrously bad economy has brought to hotel guests such as ourselves. Remember that Earn a Free Weekend Night for Every Two Starwood Stays" deal that is running all summer?
Yes, well: Marriott has hopped aboard the bandwagon and is now getting into the free-nights every-couple-stays trend and this is a pretty sweet deal. Marriott Rewards members score a free night in a category 1-4 hotel after they stay three times at any of 3,000 participating hotels under the Marriott umbrella between June 1st and August 31st (the nights don't have to be consecutive, and they don't have to be in the same hotel). You have to be a Marriott Rewards member (but you can be any level) and you have to register for the promotion at MarriottRewards.com officially, it's called "Summer Promotion" if you're looking for it on the website.
Members must register between May 12 and June 30, and once you earn your free night, you need to redeem it by December 31, 2009. Also, take note: if you're registered to earn airline miles instead of points with the loyalty program, you need to switch your preference to points to earn the free night.
