While we were hoping that the next Marriott Hotel to open in Miami would be an Edition Hotel, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel has us rather excited. And yes, this is a new hotel. Hence the "Marquis" distinction from the other JW Marriott Miami.

Set to open in July 2010 in downtown (right across from the Hyatt and the new Epic Hotel), the hotel will have 313 guest rooms and three concierge level floors. The rooms will have flat-screens, iPod docks and pillow menus but sadly, wired internet only. And judging from our recent hotel WiFi report that service will cost you a pretty penny.

Still, the hotel is expecting to open a DB Bistro Moderne from Chef Daniel Boulud. Currently, there's a DB bistro in the City Club Hotel in New York. Also, spread across two floors, will be a fitness center, a billiard room, a virtual bowling room, a virtual golf practice facility including an indoor putting green and a 10,000-sq-ft. NBA approved basketball court. It's like a frat boy-turned-business traveler's ultimate dream.

No word on how much rooms will cost but it is a Marriott Rewards Category 5 hotel, which means 25,000 points are needed for one night.
