The Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown Gets a Tech-Savvy Upgrade

In keeping up with our ongoing series about Hotel Renovations, we've got word on the recent changes to the The Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown Hotel. The $20 million renovations were spent on redesigning the 295 guestrooms and suites and public spaces. The rooms were taken out of the mid-1990s and refreshed with a new millenium look with white sheets on the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds (no patchwork comforters here), 37-inch LCD TVs, and roomy work spaces with ergonomical desk chairs.

In fact, while we're on the topic of business travel hotels this place is the ideal hotel for a biz traveler in Albuquerque.

The lobby downstairs has the popular Link@Sheraton connectivity center, powered by Microsoft, with complimentary computers, printers and high-speed internet. In-room, the internet is available either wired or wirelessly but at a price of $9.99 per day.

If you're a Starwood Platinum member or if you've booked a Club Level room, you can take advantage of the Executive Club Lounge which has 50" plasma HDTVs, a bar lounge area and a mini-business center with views overlooking the Sandia mountains.

But it shouldn't be all work and no play here right? The hotel even has a partnership with Core Performance to offer guests 360-degree training programs, nutrition programs and online training in hotel's fitness center. And guess what? Access to the fitness center is complimentary for guests.

Rounding out the hotel's offerings are new meeting rooms with built-in screens and wireless internet; the ABQ Grill, a New Mexican flavor steak house; and a grab-and-go caf� called Sol Caf� which serves Starbucks drinks.
