Ace Hotel NYC Aiming for May 1, Now With Korean Soup
Remember when the Ace Hotel New York didn't open on time? Yea, that was a lovely surprise only last week, causing those with reservations to be both disappointed and relocated to the nearby Carlton on Madison Ave. After the passing of April 1, rumors piped up around a possible opening on April 16, even though we didn't see any available rooms on their website until May 1.
Hopefully clarifying the whole situation is today's WWD article on the hotel, giving us a few new pictures along with a no-nonsense overview of all of the Ace's upcoming amenities. We find out some of the minibar contents (organic vodka and Korean instant noodle soup) and what toiletries will be sink-side (Rudy's Barbershop). The juiciest tidbit of all, however, comes from WWD's confirmation of our opening date suspicions: "The Ace Hotel, part of a Seattle-based chain, will open its doors to visitors in downtown Manhattan on May 1." Not that we're keeping score or anything, but HotelChatter: 1, Ace NYC: 0.
