This hot mess of a stay happened on New Year's Eve, according to RockStar22nyc:
There was drilling everywhere at the pool area without consideration, constant towel shortages, two ice cold pools and a dirty room. The housekeeper told us she doesn't like to clean and room service failed to deliver numerous times - just to list a few issues.
Not only was New Year's eve was an amateur production, the hotel did little to protect its guests. Security and management were completely unprepared and not responsive in dealing the mayhem that occurred throughout the facility. They allowed unruly and drunken non hotel guests to roam the halls and elevators throughout the night and morning such that guests could get back to their rooms.
NYCHotelie, whose review is worth reading all the way through, had a collection of bad service experiences too, summing it up nicely with one statement:
Every other service encounter (other than one helpful waitress at the rooftop bar) was negative. It appears that the staff is conditioned to say only one word... "no"!
With those things in mind, it's definitely important to note that almost every reviewer commented on the enormous rooms and excellent views and most reviews were tempered with a "but you have to be into that kind of scene" sort of statement about the vibe of the place.
