Ah, thank goodness: we will have a Hamptons Hotel to gossip about this summer whose name does not rhyme with Smurf Smodge. Hooray!

The small Scandinavian Hotel group c/o (which we believe is said out loud as "care of") has gone into East Hampton and has snatched up the Maidstone Arms Hotel, totally renovated it and will re-open the property as c/o The Maidstone this summer — on May 19th, to be exact.

Promising "a unique hospitality lifestyle experience termed 'Scandinavian Cozy,' which involves the following:

The rooms are filled with Scandinavian antiques, an eclectic mix of decorative arts, luxurious spa-like bathrooms, the finest organic linens and the latest technology. A pair of freestanding cottages adorned with traditional stencils inspired by 17th century Kurbits paintings, will be available for even more exclusive stays. Curated images courtesy of non-profit charity Blind Spot will be displayed in rooms, public areas, and will be available for sale.

The most newsworthy feature of c/o The Maidstone will be their resto, called The Living Room (pssst, be careful on that name: we hear Starwood doesn't like it when things bear a striking resemblance their W stuff...just kidding. Sort of.)

The restaurant will be a beacon of the "slow food movement" in the Hamptons, with a menu packed with "seasonal classics reinterpreted with a Scandinavian hint" and a massive eco-friendly wine list.

In the summer season, rates run from $475 for standard rooms and $795 for cottages. Good luck finding any photos of the rooms, though, as the website is sorta bare-bones right now — though the site does sort of resemble, like, the cover of a summer-release indie rock album, no?
