Just Take a Chill Pill To Combat The Swine Flu

April 30, 2009 at 5:50 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

We're switching things up slightly here and moving our weekly comments section to Thursdays from Fridays, giving you a full day before the weekend to read over what your fellow hotel geeks are saying.

· The W Scottsdale Prefers Locals Over Hotel Guests?: A recent guest said the pool scene gave locals preferential treatment:

The pool scene is ridiculous and is obviously all locals yet when hotel guests attempt to come up or even layout we have to put our name on the list and prove our room number- yet the local girls and guys get a free pass.

· The Ace Hotel Delay Causing Probs Again: Not all guests with reservations have been notified. Whoever you made your reservation with, whether it's the hotel or a third-party site, you should get in touch with them to double-check your reservation.

· W Downtown Needs So Much Work: According to our own Starwood Stalker, the W Downtown is way behind construction schedule. Hence the delay to 2010.

· The Best Ways to Score Upgrades?: Quite a few of you commented on this with suggestions but the fail-proof one comes High Occupancy who says the best way to get a guaranteed upgrade is to pay for it. Aw, shucks.

· Swine Flu Totally 'Overblown'?: AdamKirby says:

As a member of the media myself, I'm keenly aware of the media's ability to overblow anything and everything. Swine flu is no exception. You are more likely to die in a plane crash on the way to Cancun than you are to contract and subsequently die from the flu while you are there. Everybody needs to chill.

And we might add, if Speidi is using it to get attention then we really can't take it seriously, can we?
