This post stars Shira Lazar but was written by Shira Levine. Just in case you had your Shiras confused.

OMFG, while it's probably beneath the Housewives of Orange County to fly discounted airfares, for the record we'd still rather endure a six hour turbulent flight than have Vicki, Lynne or Gretchen even in the same airport as us. For now we're hopefully in the clear so long as there is no red carpet or paparazzi. You never know with Richard Branson though asVirgin America launched its high-tech, low-fare service to Orange County, California today.

Virgin America's new addition includes five daily round-trip flights between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Santa Ana, California. Fares start at a JetBlue-low of $49 each way. That means those materialistic tanned, plastic beauties who don't have unlimited access to someone else's plastic, get to fork over a mere Benjamin to sample a little granola chic social consciousness.

And San Franciscans wanting to think less and relax more by the beach are invited to take advantage of Virgin's "OC treatment for free" where the first 12 fliers score a stay at the "great place to spend a few relaxing days" and "excellent view of beach with value" (according to TripAdvisor) Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach. They also get most importantly, a South Coast Plaza shopping spree.

Jaunted was on hand at the inaugural event yesterday and Shira Lazar did a quick tour of the hotel. Watch the video above to see what the place is like.

Not to totally throw the county of orange tanning under the bus, but it's nice to see that the value of the twelve winners’ seats go to Virgin Unite’s partner, StandUp for Kids – a nonprofit outreach group that works with at-risk youth in Orange County.
