The Ace New York Won't Open May 1st
We've got an Ace in the hole and not in a good way. We regret to inform you that the Ace New York will not be opening this Friday, May 1st. Yep. Another delay. Foiled again!
A rep for the hotel confirmed this afternoon that the hotel is experiencing delays due to "permitting issues" (ain't it always permit issues?) and guests who have booked stays in the near future will be relocated to hotels around the city at the rate they would have paid at Ace (with Ace paying the difference). Oy. What a mess.
On the bright(ish) side, at the least the hotel is compensating would-be guests with some fairly decent swag. Guests who have been relocated are scoring a voucher good for a future one-night stay, valid for the next two years, plus, get this: a t-shirt that says, "I almost stayed at ACE New York." Well, at least they've got a sense of humor about it.
The hotel will be holding off on announcing a new official opening date 'til they can get their shiz sorted out for real this time.
For guests with existing reservations, the hotel should be contacting you shortly to make alternate arrangements. Meanwhile, we'll take a t-shirt, please.
