The Cooper Square Hotel Joins Your Old Beanie Babies on eBay
We cannot imagine the folks behind the Cooper Square Hotel feel that this is doing good things for the newly-opened, supposed-to-be-trendy hotel's image: Curbed reports that some of the hotel's friends and family vouchers have landed on eBay. Ha!
The seller says:
I have a few of these certificates valid for a one nights stay (per certificate) at the COOPER SQUARE HOTEL in downtown , New York. The hotel averages $300-650/night. The auction is a bid per night until Jan 2010.
For the winning bidder(s), you're supposed to tell the seller your desired nights, and that person will book you a rezzie for up to 7 nights if the dates aren't available, you get a full refund.
But that ain't no thang, as Curbed points out 'cause you can reserve a room for this Sunday night through less-shady channels (i.e. the CSH's own website) for $215.
Still, we can't help but giggle that the hotel has joined the ranks of retired Beanie Babies and knockoff Louis Vuitton bags on eBay. Tee-hee.
