We cannot imagine the folks behind the Cooper Square Hotel feel that this is doing good things for the newly-opened, supposed-to-be-trendy hotel's image: Curbed reports that some of the hotel's friends and family vouchers have landed on eBay. Ha!

The seller says:

I have a few of these certificates valid for a one nights stay (per certificate) at the COOPER SQUARE HOTEL in downtown , New York. The hotel averages $300-650/night. The auction is a bid per night until Jan 2010.

For the winning bidder(s), you're supposed to tell the seller your desired nights, and that person will book you a rezzie for up to 7 nights — if the dates aren't available, you get a full refund.

But that ain't no thang, as Curbed points out — 'cause you can reserve a room for this Sunday night through less-shady channels (i.e. the CSH's own website) for $215.

Still, we can't help but giggle that the hotel has joined the ranks of retired Beanie Babies and knockoff Louis Vuitton bags on eBay. Tee-hee.
