Room rates are goin' down, down, down. Nobody's traveling 'cause nobody's got any money, so hotels are forced to kick down their rates not even the 'hip and trendies' are immune. Heck, Manhattan can't even charge crazy rates no' mo'.
The latest shocking room rate drop we stumbled upon comes from one of the hip and trendies in Manhattan, one of the very last breeds of hotel to hold out with high rates: the Hotel Gansevoort has dropped below $200 per night. Well, some nights, anyway.
We found out via Quikbook's Twitter this morning that one of the deals they're most psyched about this month is a Gansevoort rate that seems to be hovering in the $186-$210 range if you book by Friday at 5 pm (Quikbook's 72-hour sale cuts rates down 30% this week only). A rate that low is available on Sundays in May & June, plus May 1st, 7th, 8th, 25th & 31st. Oh yes, there's a Thursday and a Friday among those dates. Nice.
Rates on other nights in May are around $277 and up (er, way up) though, so maybe this deal is best for those of you who want to stay a single, very special hip and trendy night. Visit Quikbook to make your rezzie here.
